Salon 64

-Shop the Look-

Salon 64, the name itself sounds oohh so exclusive. Yes, you are right, Salon 64 is a new hairdressing salon situated in the heart of Soho for the busy Londoner. It has everything under one roof – a beautiful hair salon, make-up station, coffee and champagne bar and, of course, you are in luck as it also comes complete with phone charging docks.

The owners of Salon 64, Ricky Walters and JaK Studio, found their place and transformed it into a spectacular design-led hair salon at 14 Bateman Street, Soho. I have known Ricky for almost three years when we were officially introduced in the Daniel Galvin salon at the Corinthia Hotel (how time has flown) when he mentioned to me that he planned to set up his own hair salon. Fast forward three years and here I am in this remarkable space, with a well-deserved reputation as a luxury social hub, exactly as Ricky intended.

This is not only the hair salon you will obviously have expected, but there is also a coffee bar where you can choose to relax around the workstation, catching up on work or refreshing your make up on the go, or if you are in more of a hurry, you can opt for takeaway coffee too. You may decide to enjoy the sheer luxury of a manicure while sipping champagne – a head-to-toe manicure in a calm space is a perfect way to “glam up” before you set out, without having to rush about in one of the busiest neighbourhoods.

Can we talk about this cool interior? Designed by the award-winning architects and interior design experts, JaK Studio, the new salon is arranged over two floors with dark wood, pops of colour and art deco detailing with a makeup bar at the entrance, with phone charging docks and jewellery boxes hidden inside sleek, white table tops. Another design wow-factor is the lighting. Three hammered brass pendants by original BTC hang over the stairs and over the cocktail bar, bringing sheer luxe to this entrance. One feature that particularly caught my attention is the Corian fire pits around the booth.

They even offer an extra perk of reward points for coffee -20 cups or more and you will get a free blow dry. Especially this time of the year, where your diary is rapidly filling up with the many festive events, make a little time for a hair makeover, polished nails and a glass of thirst-quenching champagne in a cosy ambience – Salon 64 is waiting for you.
